This manual Heuer Autavia 73463 is an honest Vintage watch from the early 1970s, which is preserved in original and honest condition, making it perfect wristwatch for everyday wear.
The Autavia is one of the most important Heuer models. The name is the combination of "auto" and "aviation". The first Autavias were produced in 1962 and had a round case. In 1969 Heuer introduced the new cushion-shaped case, which you can see here.
This Autavia dates from 1971 and has a completely black dial with white lettering and long tritium markers. The watch offers excellent legibility, which is why this reference was ordered by the Israeli armed forces back then. The date window is located at 6 o'clock, in which the date is displayed alternately in red and black. The dial is flawlessly preserved. There are no scratches, spots or other flaws. The original tritium lume is intact everywhere and has a nice creamy color.
The stainless steel case has natural signs of wear and it is likely unpolished. A number "15" can be seen under the lower chrono pusher and further numbers are engraved on the case back. This could be an indication of the military use of this Autavia - but we are not sure about that.
The black rotating bezel shows minute markers and also has natural signs of wear. This Autavia is powered by the manual winding caliber Valjoux 7734. A rare vintage Gay-Frères stainless steel bracelet accompanies the watch. The clasp is marked 3/70 (third quarter 1970). The end piece reference is HLD.
All in all, this is an honestly preserved Heuer Autavia with a reliable Valjoux movement. The watch is wonderfully suitable for everyday wear. But it also cuts a fine figure as a collectable vintage watch.
