This Rolex Datejust 16030 dates from 1978 and has a unique tropical dial.

The five-digit reference 160xx was introduced in 1977 maintaining the predecessor's vintage design and featuring the improved Rolex caliber 3035 with a quick-set date and a hacking second function. Today the 5-digit Datejust is one of the most popular vintage watches. Thanks to its helpful functions, it is ideal for everyday wear and at the same time it is a rare and collectable vintage watch.

When talking about collectability, then this particular specimen goes a step further. The watch features an absolutely breathtaking tropical dial, which was originally black and developed a fantastic brown patina over the years. The authentic aging gives the watch a vintage look that is difficult to put into words, so we let the pictures speak.
