The first serial numbers of the reference 1675 start with 503XXX. The particular watch has the serial number 504XXX and is thus the first and rarest version of the GMT-Master 1675. Only the very first 1675 dials have the writing "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED CHRONOMETER" (OCC) like it was typical for the predecessor reference 6542. These OCC dials were installed in a small period of 12 months. All GMTs after 1960 have the writing "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" (SCOC). The reference 1675 with OCC dial is incredibly difficult to find. An interesting and important information for the collectors: the predecessor reference 6542 and the reference 1675 have different dial and case diameters. Thus, a dial exchange between these two references is impossible.

Another feature of this watch are the pointed crown guards, also known as PCG or cornino crown guards. This component ensured water resistance and was installed in this "pointed" form only from 1959 to 1964. During the same time period, the dials were provided with the cool and today very sought-after chapter ring - a circle connecting the minute markers. Behind the chapter ring at 6 o'clock one can see the inscription "SWISS", which indicates the used luminous material radium. This dial is also referred to as swiss radium dial and is very popular with collectors. The radium lume still shines under UV light.

All early gilt dials have the small GMT hand, like the watch offered here. The pepsi bezel has a beautiful faded color. Considering the age of this watch, the condition of the case is fascinating. It has natural traces of wear but is still unpolished. The movement caliber of the early 1675s is 1565. It is based on the 1560 caliber on which the GMT and date functions were added. Rolex often engraved "1560" on the automatic winding bridge, like with this watch. The original Oyster bracelet from the second quarter of 1961 with end links ref. 80 fits perfectly to the watch and is in very good condition.

One feature of this GMT is impossible to overlook - the tropical dial. Over the years the glossy black surface obtained a beautiful leather structure with brown color. The golden text of the gilt dial and the brown patina of the lume perfectly fit the overall picture of the watch.
