Description
At first glance, this vintage watch might appear to be a simple Oyster Perpetual Time-Only Rolex. But it is not. Rather, it is the unusual and special Rolex Zephyr - one of the rarest vintage models from Rolex, which is also accompanied by a full set from 1971.

The first Rolex Zephyr had the reference 6582 produced in the 1950s. Its direct successor was the reference 1008, which you can see here. The Rolex Zephyr 1008 can be recognized by the crosshair, which divides the dial into four sections and by the special, faceted bezel. The symmetry of the dial, the fine dauphine hands and the golden bezel result in an elegant and harmonious look. The production of Rolex Zephyr came to an end in the 1980s.

This particular example was produced in 1966 and sold in 1971. The full accessories combined with impressive condition make this watch so special. In addition to the original chronometer certificate, a presentation box and an outer box, there is even the original invoice from June 10, 1971. On this date, the first owner acquired his beautiful wristwatch in Edmonton (Canada). Even the red Rolex chronometer seal is still available.

When it comes to condition valuation, this watch is undoubtedly one of the best out there. We love the flawless sunburst dial with its perfectly preserved tritium lume dots. At 6 o'clock you can see the signature "T SWISS T", which refers to tritium as the luminous material. The specially engraved gold bezel contributes to the exceptional look of the watch and has hardly any signs of wear. The Rolex Zephyr 1008 is powered by the automatic caliber 1570, which operates perfectly keeping very good time.

On top of that, the watch comes with the rare 1971 riveted Oyster bracelet which, especially considering its age, is in absolutely fantastic condition and shows only little stretch. It is very comfortable to wear on the wrist. The clasp is stamped 2/67 (January 1967).

Not only the unmistakable design, but also the excellent condition and the original full set make this Rolex Zephyr a very special vintage collector's watch.
