This elegant vintage watch is a Patek Philippe Calatrava 2509 from the 1950s in a 18k yellow gold case.

The reference 2509 was manufactured between 1950 and the late 1960s. The special feature of this model is the small seconds sub dial at 6 o'clock, which gives the watch a lively character. The reference 2508, on the other hand, has a sweep second.

This particular Calatrava was manufactured in 1955 and sold on February 11, 1957 being confirmed by the accompanying Patek Philippe extract from the archives. The dial is absolutely clean and offers a very harmonious look. The golden markers, the beautiful dauphine hands and the fine pearl minute track create even more elegance and balance. The lettering "Patek Philippe Genève" is enameled and not printed.

Another rare and special feature of this Calatrava is the screwed case back, because most vintage Calatravas have a snap-on back. The 35mm case is 18k yellow gold and has intact gold hallmarks on the side and inside the back. The thin case profile looks very aesthetic on the wrist. The manual-wound caliber 12"400 is a precision movement from Patek Philippe and the heart of this Calatrava. Reliable and accurate timekeeping is guaranteed.
