Patek Philippe Chronograph 5070G - White Gold

Here we offer you the Patek Philippe chronograph reference 5070G in white gold from 2006.

The reference 5070 was introduced for the first time in 1998 and is the successor to the legendary reference 1463, which was discontinued in the 1960s. Although there are more than 40 years in between, these two references are closely linked. They are both classic chronographs that do not have a calendar complication, which is a specialty when we talk about Patek Philippe. In the first four years (1998-2002) there were only yellow gold versions of the reference 5070. The white gold variant, example of which you can see here, has been produced between 2002 and 2008.

The beautiful silver dial with black lettering and applied Arabic numerals has two sub-dials at 3 and 9 o'clock. A minute and tachymeter scale are attached to the outer track of the dial. The design is very well balanced and offers good readability in different lighting conditions. The dial is in pristine condition.

The case is made of solid 18 carat white gold and measures 42mm in diameter. Thanks to the thin case profile (11.5mm), the watch doesn't look too big and sits comfortably on the wrist. The graduated lugs give the case an elegant touch. The watch gets even more tasteful due to its rectangular pushers and well-proportioned winding crown. The chronograph has rarely been worn to stay in excellent overall condition with only minimal signs of wear.

The watch is powered by the manual-wound caliber CH 27-70, which can always be admired thanks to the sapphire crystal case back. It is a Lemania-based mechanical movement that is considered one of the finest chronograph movements ever produced. The reference 5070 is the last Patek Philippe timepiece to be powered by a Lemania-based movement.

The Patek Philippe certificate of origin is available and documents all important data of the watch. The timepiece was sold in Hong Kong on February 23, 2006. The 5070G is accompanied by an original black alligator leather strap stamped with "Patek Philippe Genève". The folding clasp is made of white gold and features the distinctive Calatrava cross.

This Patek 5070G is an important and valuable part in the long tradition of great manual-wound chronographs made by Patek Philippe.
