This early version of the Rolex GMT Master 16750 has the vintage look of the predecessor reference 1675 and at the same time offers the improved GMT caliber 3075 with quickset date.

Manufactured from 1981 to 1988, the GMT Master 16750 is also referred to as the transitional reference, as it was the "bridge" between the four-digit vintage reference 1675 and the later introduced sapphire crystal GMT. Within the 16750 family there were two different versions. Here we offer you the early one with a matte dial and classic (not bordered) luminous markers. Later examples of the 16750 had a glossy dial with white gold bordered hour markers. Many matte dials have been replaced with gloss dials when the watches were serviced at Rolex, making the reference 16750 with a matte dial pretta rare, especially if you are looking for a well-preserved condition.

We love the beautiful vintage look of this 40 year old GMT Master thanks to the pleasant patina in the hour markers and the faded Pepsi bezel. As a result of natural aging, the tritium lume discolored to a warm desert yellow hue, which is consistent in the hands and indices. The faded colors of the Pepsi bezel also contribute to the gorgeous vintage look of this GMT. Collectors appreciate this honest and even aging, which is why watches with such dials are in great demand.
