What makes this Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665 from 1978 so special is the absolutely flawless dial and an excellent overall condition.
The Rolex Sea-Dweller presented in the 1950s was designed for professional divers. While the Rolex Submariner was the record holder at 200m until then, the newly developed Sea-Dweller was able to withstand the enormous water pressure at a depth of 610m and return to the water surface unscathed. The pressure that developed in the watch during the long stay under water was able to escape for the first time via the newly developed helium valve, which is located on the left side of the case.
The Sea-Dweller offered here dates from 1978 and is the so-called Great White Sea-Dweller with white lettering on the dial. The tritium lume on this watch has a beautiful and even vanilla color that is the result of natural aging.
