SoldThe El Primero is powered by the Zenith El Primero automatic movement, which was introduced in 1969. The Zenith caliber 3019 PHC deserves its legendary status thanks to its longevity and precision. Not for nothing used Rolex the El Primero movement for its Daytona chronograph, which was manufactured between 1988 and 2000 and is now nicknamed the "Zenith Daytona".
The cool retro look of the reference A782 is due to the unusual tonneau shape of the Defy case. And of course there is the stunning dial with its unique color gradient from dark to light turquoise. The three overlapping sub-registers and the date between 4 and 5 are reminiscent of the typical dial layout of vintage Zenith watches from the 70s. The large fluted hour markers and beautiful hand set including the red chrono lollipop hand also add to the charming look of the watch.
With 1500 watches produced, the reference A782 is one of the rarest Zenith models. Even less examples are preserved in good condition, making this El Primero absolutely exceptional.

Dial: pristine condition, original and intact tritium lume in hands and hour markers, matching creamy tritium color.
Case: unpolished case with slight signs of wear, deep engraving of the serial number on the back, signed with the NATO star, original winding crown with the NATO star logo.
Movement: Zenith automatic caliber 3019 PHC operates properly, timegrapher +/-8 s/d.
Bracelet: original Zenith stainless steel bracelet with slight signs of wear.
Summing-Up
An extremely rare vintage watch that is preserved in an even rarer condition. It looks very attractive on the wrist and is powered by a desirable movement.
