Here is a special and rare 1960s Rolex GMT Master 1675 Thin Case Zinc Sulfide accompanied by the original full set.
The four-digit Rolex GMT Master reference 1675 was produced between 1959 and 1980 and is one of the most popular vintage collector's watches. In its relatively long production time, it underwent some design changes that disappeared again a short time later. Watches produced in these so-called transitional periods are particularly valued by collectors because of their rarity.
This special Rolex GMT Master 1675 from 1967 with a matt zinc sulfide dial and a thin case also belongs to this category. The watch comes from a transitional period that began with the introduction of matte dials in 1965, marking the end of glossy dials. In an even shorter production period of about 1 year between 1967 and 1968, the dials were equipped with the long-living zinc sulfide luminous material. It can be recognized by its greenish color and the fact that they still glow under UV light. The tritium lume used for Rolex watches after 1968, on the other hand, no longer glows today. Another specialty is the thin case with a 12.7mm thickness, which was manufactured between 1959 and 1967. GMTs that were made after 1967 had a 13mm case. Considering that the matte dials were introduced in 1965, it becomes clear how rare and special this watch is.
The features described above alone would make this GMT Master a highly collectible vintage timepiece. But it gets even better! The watch comes with its original full set from 1967. Double punched papers, booklet, warranty translation and boxes are present. The watch was sold in Kuwait on December 9, 1970.
