Orfina Porsche Design Chronograph 7178 NOS - Box and Papers

SoldAll versions of this timepiece were manufactured between 1972 and 1978. The first versions had a black PVD case and were powered by the Valjoux 7750. In 1975 during the height of the quartz crisis Valjoux discontinued the production of the 7750 caliber and Porsche Design decided to equip its chronograph with the automatic caliber Lemania 5100. This particular example has a gray PVD-coated case and a matching PVD-coated bracelet.
The designer of the dial was none other than Ferdinand Porsche. His goal was to design the dial of the new chronograph based on the dashboard instruments of the sports car Porsche 911. Despite many information, the dial remains clear and easy to read.
The watch at hand has been in a safe for a very long time and is preserved almost unworn. Accordingly, the condition of this approximately 50-year-old watch can be described as NOS (New Old Stock). The watch is accompanied by the original Orfina box and Orfina guarantee card.

Dial: mint, original tritium luminous material, signed with "SWISS MADE".
Case: mint, intact PVD coating, sharp lugs, deep engravings on the back, original winding crown with Orfina logo.
Movement: Automatic caliber Lemania 5100 in perfect working order.
Bracelet: mint, unworn, no wear on the PVD coating, clasp signed with the Orfina logo.
