In the 1980s, the soldiers of the German Bundeswehr were equipped with this Tutima military chronograph reference 798.
There is hardly a greater challenge for a watch brand than developing an official watch for Air Force pilots. Tutima mastered this task brilliantly and the result was a high-quality timepiece with a number of complications, easy to read dial and an innovative design concept.
Tutima developed the large chronograph pushers, which are integrated into the case. They made it easier to operate the chronograph with gloves. This solution also offers another important advantage: what doesn't protrude can't break off and can't hurt you in turbulent situations. Which is why all corners and edges of the case are rounded for safety reasons.
The dial and the movement are kept in the solid special case with sapphire glass like in a safe. The chronograph features a central chrono minute hand, which has the shape of an orange airplane. At 6 o'clock there is the 12-hour totalizer, which also features an orange hand. At 12 o'clock there is a sub-dial with a 24-hour display and at 9 o'clock the permanent running seconds. Finally, at 3 o'clock, the watch offers a day and date display, both of which can be set via a quickset mechanism.
The Tutima is powered by the unique automatic caliber Lemania 5100. This movement is known for its extreme robustness, which has been put in countless endurance tests under the most difficult conditions.
