Hardly any other chronograph masters the combination of sportiness and elegance as well as a vintage Heuer Carrera. Here we offer you an automatic Heuer Carrera 1153 from the early 1970s in excellent condition.
The heart of this chronograph is one of the first automatic chronograph movements in watch history - the legendary caliber 11. With the introduction of this revolutionary movement in 1969, the design of the Heuer Carrera was also changed. While the case of the manual-wind Carrera was round, the automatic Carrera featured a cushion-shaped case. The reference 1153 was produced in a short period between 1969 and 1974.
The example offered here dates from the early 1970s and features the first execution dial with narrow hour markers and a tachymeter scale with 50 to 100 units per hour. The flawless sunburst dial offers a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour totalizer and the date. The two sub-dials and the tachymeter scale have the same anthracite color, which harmonizes perfectly with the silver-colored base. Not to be overlooked is the bright orange chrono second hand, which contributes to the sporty look of this watch.
