Favre Leuba Bathy 50 53243

rare diver's watch - beautiful design - top condition

Description
The Favre Leuba Bathy 50 from 1969 was the first watch with a mechanical depth gauge. Back then an absolute sensation. Many little visual details create a unique design.

Favre Leuba is one of the oldest Swiss watch companies. The manufacture was founded in the eighteenth century and passed from father to son for eight generations. Favre Leuba can look back on a long and impressive history.

The manufactory experienced a "golden" age in the 1960s when it produced diving watches. This also includes the Bathy 50 Ref. 53243 offered here. Many small details ensure a cool design. Such as the pretty color combination of black, white and red. The black bakelite bezel has luminous inlays in the triangle at 12 o'clock and in the markers at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. The depth gauge readings are arranged radially around the white inner ring. We particularly like the typography of the numbers. The minute hand with the small extra arrow makes it easier to read the minutes on the bezel, but at the same time it does not cover the depth gauge ring. A dial design that has been thought through down to the last detail. Even the small seconds has found its place at 6 o'clock.
