This honest and authentic Rolex Submariner 1680 dates from 1978.
With the introduction of the reference 1680 in the late 60s, for the first time the Submariner was fitted with a Cyclops date. Here you can see the all-white printed dial, which was produced for a short period of time between approx. 1976 and 1979.
The Rolex Submariner is a legendary diver's watch and this example is not only a rare vintage find, but also a wristwatch suitable for everyday use thanks to its reliable movement.
Condition report
Dial: flawless matt black surface, original tritium lume with even vanilla-colored patina in the hour markers and hands.
Case: Oyster case with natural signs of wear, unpolished or slightly polished, visible numbers between the lugs, reference 1680 inside the back.
Bezel: natural signs of wear, a tiny scratch at 45min, intact original pearl.
Movement: original Rolex caliber 1575, timing machine +/-13 s/d.
Bracelet: Oyster stainless steel bracelet reference 93150, end links 580, fliplock folding clasp with diver extension, clasp code VC (1978), matches the watch perfectly, slight signs of wear that are hardly visible.

Overall, this Submariner scores with its honest and cool vintage look thanks to the beautiful and even patina in the hour markers and the slightly faded bezel.
