Description
This rare Nimer chronograph dates from the 1950s and features a multicolor dial housed in a Spillman case with inverted pushers.

Nimer was a subsidiary of Mulco Watches, SA, which was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1936 and produced timepieces until the 1970s. Like many other Swiss watch brands, Mulco and thus Nimer went bankrupt due to the quartz crisis of the 1970s.

The present chronograph dates back to the 1950s and is a rare find, especially thanks to its three-register dial. The attractive multicolor dial has a red telemeter scale and a blue tachymeter scale. The wonderful natural patina reflects the great age of this chronograph.

The large 38mm case of this vintage timepiece is the famous and popular Spillman case recognizable by its beveled lugs. "Spillman Cases" was a Zurich-based company founded in 1861 that specialized in the manufacture of watch cases. Many well-known watch manufacturers used the Spillman case for their watches, which ensured a great commercial success for the case manufacturer.

Another special thing are the inverted chronograph pushers. This type of pushers is extremely rare. The watch is powered by the manual-wound caliber Valjoux 71.

Condition report.
Dial: excellent condition - natural even patina - fully intact tachymeter and telemeter scales - signed "SWISS MADE".

Case: TOP condition - intact lugs - natural signs of wear - sharp engraving on caseback.

Movement: manual winding caliber Valjoux 71 - timegrapher: rate: -8 s/day, amplitude: 331, beat error: 0.3. Chronograph starts, stops and resets perfectly.

Summing-Up.
An attractive and rare chronograph from the 1950s. Reliable on the wrist and extremely valuable thanks to its excellent condition.
