This Heuer Carrera 1553 from the 70s has an unpolished case and is accompanied by original papers.
In 1972, reference 1553 was added to the Carrera model line. As with reference 1153, the first two numbers reveal the caliber of the chronograph. On this watch, it is the Heuer automatic caliber 15 with date, 30-minute counter and small seconds at 10 o'clock.
The unique selling point of the reference 1553 is the horizontal bar, which shows the model name Carrera. On the blue version 1553N, this bar is silver colored, and on the reference 1553S with silver dial, it is gray. The slight lacquer wear, which the present Carrera shows at 9 o'clock does not affect the viewer negatively at all. Rather, the patina gives the watch an authentic and honest character.
Also, the beautiful cushion case combined with the original domed acrylic crystal create the popular and classic vintage look on the wrist. The orange chrono hand and the large tritium hour markers are also eye-catching.
This Carrera becomes a special collector's item thanks to the present original accessories from 1972. According to the present warranty certificate, the watch was sold on December 5, 1972 at the Mölders jeweler in Krefeld, Germany. Also present is the red Heuer instruction manual with filled in data about the watch.
