This is a rare 1940's Vetta Ermetico Chronograph reference 5347 with a stunning dial housed in a big 38mm case.
This Vetta is one of the first chronographs to feature a water-resistant snap-back case. This is ensured by the hermetically sealed case back, hence the name "Ermetico". The large waterproof chronographs of the 1940s were the very first of their kind. These designs shaped the look of the chronographs of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Vetta was a Wyler brand launched for the Italian market, that's why the words "Cronografo" and "Ermetico" are in Italian.
The watch here features a two-register dial with a stunning vintage patina. The multi-color dial features a blue tachymeter scale and a red telemeter scale, which provide a nice contrast on the silver surface. The 38mm stainless steel case with large round pushers looks similar to Longines and Omega chronos from the same era. The stepped bezel is another cool design feature of the case. The watch is powered by the high-quality Valjoux 22 movement, which operates reliably.
