This spectacular Breitling GMT Chronomatic 2115 is a rare GMT chronograph from 1970 in virtually unworn condition.
In 1969, the world's first automatic chronograph movement was presented: the caliber 11. 3 manufacturers had worked together on the new development of this legendary movement: Breitling, Heuer-Leonidas and Hamilton-Büren. In 1970 came the improved caliber 12 and the caliber 14 with a GMT complication to display the second time zone. The Chrono-Matic here from 1970 is also equipped with a caliber 14.
The Vintage Chronomatic is characterized by its large 46mm stainless steel case, which houses a beautiful multicolor dial. The rotating bezel is divided into light and dark halves, representing day and night, respectively. An amazing thing about this watch is the original purple color in the bezel. On most examples from the 1970s, this has faded to a light brownish hue. Thanks to the yellow GMT hand, the time can be read in a second time zone. The watch also features a date window with a red date disc and, of course, the chronograph sub dials showing a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour totalizer.
This watch becomes a spectacular and rare collector's item thanks to its fantastic condition. It spent most of its life in a safe.
