Description
This retro chronograph comes from the 1970s and is the Breitling Bullhead reference 2117.

The nickname "Bullhead" is due to the position of the two chronograph pushers. These are not located on the right side of the case, as is common with most chronographs, but on top and resemble the horns of a bull. This design was intended to make the chronograph easier to use and was especially popular with athletes and sports enthusiasts, who used the chronograph to stop time during sporting events.

Another unusual feature of the Breitling Bullhead is the asymmetrical shape of the stainless steel case, that is thinner at the bottom and thicker at the top. The winding crown is located at 6 o'clock and is protected thanks to the embedding in the case. The case also features a rotating bezel with minutes and hours.

And then there's this crazy dial with numerous shades of brown. The colors range from nougat to cappuccino to caramel. In addition to a tachymeter scale, the dial also features a red pulsation scale. Orange color is present in the white sub-registers and in all hands. The date disk features red numerals. All colors are ideally matched and harmonize wonderfully with each other.

Another special feature of this chronograph is its movement. Caliber 12 is the improved version of caliber 11, which was developed in 1969 in collaboration between Heuer, Breitling, Hamilton-Buren and Dubois-Depraz. It was the world's first chronograph movement with automatic winding and is highly sought after among vintage Heuer collectors.
