Description
This Eterna chronograph dates back to the 1940s and features a beautiful two-tone dial housed in a large 38mm Spillmann case.

The stunning patina on the two-tone dial makes for an attractive vintage look to this watch. Both the central hands and the sub-register hands have the elegant feuille shape. The blue tachymeter and red telemeter scales give the dial a sporty touch.

What makes this watch so special and rare is the snapback Spillmann case, which is one of the first waterproof wristwatch cases in the world. Most water resistant watches from this era had a screwed back. The back of this watch has a "lip" that was designed to open the strong-pressed case cover. The lugs have the typical Spillmann shape with an edge and bevel.

The Eterna is powered by the robust manual-wound caliber Valjoux 22. Due to its reliability, the watch is ideally suited for daily wear.

In the book "FERO - 150 steel chronographs" this Eterna chronograph was mentioned (see pictures).

Condition report.
Dial: excellent condition - even patina - without scratches and without spots - intact tachymeter and telemeter scales - correct set of hands - signed with "FAB.SUISSE".

Case: intact lugs - very light wear marks - deep engraving of case number on the back.

Movement: manual winding caliber Eterna 703 (Valjoux 22) - rate: -7 s/day, amplitude: 292, beat error: 0.4 - service not necessary. Chronograph starts, stops and resets perfectly.
