Zodiac Time-Only Watch 1970s

How cool is this time-only Zodiac with its unusual case shape and two-tone silver dial.

The design of this 1970s automatic Zodiac wristwatch is one of the many reasons we love vintage watches so much. No matter how long you study timepieces from the 60s and 70s, and how many models you've seen, there is always another watch that will amaze you.

The first question that comes to mind when looking at this Zodiac is "is the watch round or not"? From certain angles it looks round, from others more oval. It looks like an optical illusion. In fact, the watch is not round. Between 9 and 3 o'clock and between 12 and 6 o'clock, the case is 40 mm wide. If you measure the case between 1:30 and 7:30, the width is 39 mm. This gives the watch an unusual, almost magical look. The wide, lowered bezel has a sunburst finish that, when combined with the unusual dimensions of the case creates a magical play of light.

The dial is also unusual. It is divided into four sections. The upper left quarter as well as the lower right quarter have a horizontal finish, and the upper right quarter as well as the lower left quarter have a vertical finish. An absolutely crazy dial, which looks very elegant due to its symmetry and fine cut. The small thickness of 10 mm is due to the flat mineral crystal and also adds to the elegance of the watch. Since the small winding crown is integrated into the case, it is not visible when viewing the watch from the front, which makes for a symmetrical and discreet appearance of the watch.
