Rolex Submariner 1680 Red - Full Set

Around 1966, Rolex introduced the Submariner reference 1680, the first Submariner with a date window and the new, improved caliber 1570 featuring a hacking seconds mechanism. Until around 1974, the model name "Submariner" was printed in red color on the dial. The red Subs are particularly popular and coveted among vintage collectors. The watch offered here has a Mark V dial version, which can be identified by the "feet-first" depth indication "660 ft = 200 m" with open 6s.

Dial: absolutely perfect matt surface with a authentic patina - original tritium luminous material with breathtaking creamy patina - matching tritium color in the hour markers and hands - signed "SWISS - T < 25".

Case: every vintage collector's dream condition: worn but unpolished - natural signs of wear - clearly legible numbers between the lugs - original Rolex Triplock crown - the watch has a domed acrylic crystal without cyclops loupe as it was worn by the previous owner, the original glass with cyclops loupe is present.

Bezel: sharp bezel - inlay without scratches - easy to rotate in both directions - original luminous pearl at 60.

Movement: automatic caliber 1570 - timegrapher: rate: -17s/day, amplitude: 248, beat error: 1.4.

Bracelet: original folded Oyster bracelet in perfect condition - reference 9315 - end links: 380 - date stamp in the clasp 3/72 (third quarter 1972).
