This is a large 40mm vintage chronograph from the 1950s with a black galvanic dial.
Titus was founded in Geneva in 1951 by Swiss watchmaker Paul Ditisheim. After his death in 1945, Titus continued to make watches. Classic chronographs from this era are particularly popular. However, most of them had small diameters of about 36mm. That's what makes the 40mm diameter chronograph offered here so rare and interesting for collectors.
The two-tone dial consists of a gray outer surface, showing the telemeter scale, and the black inner surface. The intricate galvanic dial has two fine sub-dials for the running seconds and the 30-minute register. The gold lettering provides a beautiful contrast to the black surface.
The chronograph is powered by the Landeron Caliber 15, which is a rare monopusher chronograph movement. As the name suggests, the chronograph start, stop and reset functions are controlled by a single pusher.

Summing-Up
A black dial with gilt print in a 40mm case is a very rare combination for a 50s chronograph. The amazing look of this chronograph on the wrist is really hard to put into words. The excellent condition, perfectly working movement and a complicated dial make this watch a valuable, reliable and very attractive companion.
