Description
This charming retro Vetta Chronograph dates from the 1970s and is preserved in almost unworn condition.

The interesting thing about this watch is that it is powered by caliber 12. Its predecessor, the caliber 11, was developed by the "Chronomatic gang" consisting of Heuer, Breitling, Hamilton-Buren and Dubois-Depraz and is one of the first automatic chronographs in watchmaking history. Caliber 11 was presented in Geneva in 1969 and produced until around 1973. The improved Caliber 12, introduced in 1971, fixed some of the problems of the Caliber 11. One of the most eye-catching features of the caliber 11/12 is the position of the crown at 9 o'clock.

The movement bridge of this Vetta Chronograph is signed with JRGK, which stands for Jean-Raoul-Gorgerat Kelek. Kelek, a watch brand from La Chaux-de-Fonds, had the official of the Chronomatic Group in the 1970s and also produced caliber 12 movements.

The colorful design of this Vetta chronograph makes it a perfect representative of the bold 1970s. The dark blue base color, light blue sub-registers, white chapter ring, orange hands and blue tachymeter scale make for an eye-catching and high-contrast look. The tonneau-shaped case together with the stainless steel bracelet also give the watch the charm of the nostalgic 70s.
