Description
Rarity and NOS condition: a dream combination for every vintage collector. This manual wind Heuer Autavia 741.603 is a GMT chronograph from the early 1970s. It is the only manual-wind GMT reference with the cushion-shaped case. This vintage wristwatch is unworn and still has the manufacture's sticker on the case back.

The first Heuer Autavia GMTs were manual-wind chronographs, manufactured in the second half of the 1960s, powered by Valjoux movements, and with a round case shape. After 1969, the automatic Autavias with cushion-shaped cases and caliber 14 entered the market. Heuer decided to produce one more manual-wind model of the Autavia GMT and put it inside the new cushion case: it is the reference 741.603 you see here. Because of its rarity, this reference enjoys a high reputation among vintage Heuer fans.

Given the mint condition of this particular example, we can confidently say, that this watch is almost impossible to replace. The Vintage experts refer to such a condition as NOS (New Old Stock). The watch was probably never worn. The original Heuer sticker on the case back looks absolutely mint. All parts from the hands to the movement are original and untouched.

The colorful design of this Autavia GMT version looks astonishing. A reverse panda dial with red accents and a yellow GMT hand harmonize wonderfully with the colors of the rotating 24-hour bezel.

As already mentioned, this is a manual Autavia GMT that is powered by the extremely reliable Valjoux caliber 7741. The watch is in perfect working order.
