LeCoultre Chronograph E2644 azure blue

very rare - eye-catching blue dial - Valjoux 72

Description
The seductive azure blue dial of this rare 1960s LeCoultre will make any watch lover's heart beat faster.

The LeCoultre reference E2644 is a rare vintage wristwatch with a mysterious dial design you don't see often. The chronograph is powered by the legendary manual-wound caliber Valjoux 72, which was also used in the Rolex Daytona from that time.

There is no way of overlooking the vibrant ombré dial with its beautiful shade of azure fading to a darker blue on the outer edge. The round hour markers have blue inserts in the middle. The three white sub-registers and the white chrono seconds hand on the blue background provide a superb contrast. A tachymeter scale up to 1000 hours is attached to the periphery of the dial.

On the wrist, the watch has a terrific presence, thanks to the dial but also to the perfectly proportioned 35cm case. The stainless steel bracelet that accompanies the watch is not original LeCoultre but dates from the 1960s/70s and matches the watch beautifully. Of course, the buyer will also receive an additional new leather strap.
