Description
AVI 765 is an iconic vintage chronograph from Breitling, a renowned Swiss watch manufacturer known for its aviation-inspired timepieces. Launched in the 1950s, the 765 AVI was developed specifically for pilots and is characterized by its distinctive aesthetics and reliable functionality.

This watch features a striking design with a large stainless steel case, round pushers and a two-tone rotating bezel. The dial is characterized by its high-contrast three-register layout with large luminous hands and markers.

One of the most important distinguishing features of the AVI is the 15-minute counter at 3 o'clock. As far as we know, the reason for the 15-minute format was the 15-minute inspection of the aircraft before take-off.

The Breitling 765 AVI was introduced in 1953 and produced until 1963. The "Reverse Panda" dial was produced between 1961 and 1963 and is often referred to as the "Raquel Welch". The reason: the American actress wore one of these watches in her 1967 movie "Fathom".

Dial: excellently preserved black surface - authentic patina in the sub-dial at 3 o'clock - original tritium luminous material in hands and markers - signed "Breitling Genève" and "SWISS T".

Case: intact lines and bevels of the lugs - full profile - intact engravings on the back - correct signed Breitling crown.

Movement: Venus hand-wound caliber 178 - values on the timegrapher: rate: +5s/day, amplitude: 353 degrees, beat error: 1.2 ms.
