This 1960s Universal Genève Aero Compax 890101/01 with its rare "Batman" dial is in excellent condition.
The Aero Compax has a special dial that displays the time in 24-hour format instead of the usual 12-hour format. The hour hand makes one rotation in 24 hours and each hour is represented by a number from 1 to 24. In addition, the rotating 24-hour bezel allows displaying time in a second time zone. Aside from its practicality, this watch has an aesthetic appeal due to its complexity.
This Aero-Compax "Batman" impresses with its exotic dial design, which is reminiscent of the iconic comic superhero. The upper white half shows the daytime hours (6 to 18) and the lower black half the nighttime hours (18 to 24 and 0 to 6). The running seconds and chronograph counters are displayed in the three sub-registers.
The oversized 42 mm case ensured improved readability and corresponds to the popular proportions of today's watch collectors. On the wrist, the chronograph looks very present and is striking.
