IWC Ingenieur 666 AD Black Dial

rare silver print - excellent condition - Gay-Frères bracelet

Description
This fantastic IWC Ingenieur 666 AD with a rare black galvanic dial dates back to the mid-1950s.

The legendary "Ingenieur" model from the Schaffhausen watch manufacturer IWC was produced in 1954 and was a special wristwatch for scientists, doctors and researchers. Durability, functionality and anti-magnetic properties were among the most important criteria in the development of this tool watch. This is even indicated by the "INGENIEUR" logo on the dial - it shows a lightning bolt from top left to bottom right. The reference 666A (without date) and 666AD (with date) were the very first versions of the IWC Ingenieur. Most of them had silver-colored dials.

An old IWC Ingenieur with a black dial is already a very rare and sought-after vintage model. What makes this particular watch here even more special is the galvanic silver print on the dial, as most black IWC Ingenieur watches are white printed. The silver print on the black background looks more discreet and elegant. The long silver baton markers with their fluted surface show great attention to detail and, together with the Dauphine hands, contribute to a beautiful contrast. The color of the tritium dots not only matches the luminous material in the dauphine hands, but also the date display at 3 o'clock, which has developed a natural cream-colored patina over the years.

Regardless of the rarity of the dial, the breathtaking condition ensures the high collector's value of this vintage Ingenieur. Whether it's the dial with its flawless glossy finish and 100% intact tritium lume, the unpolished case, the perfectly functioning movement or the stainless steel bracelet, everything has remained in original, rarely worn condition.

The original Gay-Frères bracelet not only provides a casual vintage look on the wrist, it also contributes to the collector's value of the watch and already fetches prices of between €1500 and €2000 on its own. It is the rare single beads of rice bracelet with IWC signed clasp.
