Here we offer you a rare 1940s vintage chronograph from Vetta.
Vetta was a Wyler brand introduced for the Italian market, so the dials were marked with Italian terms such as "Cronografo" or "Ermetico". The Ermetico line is known for its robustness, precision and classic design. The name "Ermetico" indicates that the watch is water-resistant, which emphasizes its ability to keep moisture and dust away from the case. Even though vintage models do not offer the same level of water resistance as modern watches, the Ermetico line was designed to withstand daily wear and occasional contact with water.
The Vetta 5347 presented here is a remarkable example from the 1940s. What makes this watch so special and rare is the large 38mm diameter and, of course, the minimalist design of the two-tone dial. Depending on the viewing angle and incidence of light, the sub-dials, the inner disc and the outer ring appear lighter or darker - absolutely magical. The dial also features a red telemeter scale and a blue center snail scale.
