The Rolex Cosmograph 6238, often referred to as the "Pre-Daytona", was produced in the short period between 1960 and 1967. This model has a special place in Rolex history, as it was the predecessor of the legendary Rolex Daytona.

A pre-Daytona with a black dial is particularly rare and sought-after, as most watches were equipped with a silver-colored dial.
