Description
In our opinion, this Eberhard Contograf 14901 belongs on the list of the most important collector's watches from the 20th century. Introduced in the 1960s, this chronograph was incomparable to any other wristwatch on the market. It is not only one of the most beautiful and innovative chronographs of the 20th century, but also one of the first wristwatches with a quick-set date. The red date display at 6 o'clock can be set directly via a small pusher on the case.

The perfectly proportioned 39 mm case and the reverse-panda dial with a glossy black surface, white sub-dials and gilt print ensure a great look. The tachymeter scale and 1/5 second scale give the dial a complex and technically sophisticated look. We love the minimalist red accents in the date window and in the “50km/h” marker on the tachymeter scale. The sword hands, which were only used in the first generation of the Eberhard-Contograf, are rare and coveted.

We recommend this watch to all collectors who appreciate the original and authentic condition of vintage watches and at the same time want to give their beloved watches some wrist time. The case has been worn with care and shows clear bevels. While most examples feature a service bezel, this Contograf is still fitted with its original rotating bezel, which has developed a wonderful patina and gives the watch a gorgeous vintage look.

At the heart of this chronograph is the in-house maually-wound caliber 310.82, which is coveted and appreciated for its remarkable quickset date mechanism.
