Description
The IWC Ingenieur Reference 666 is undoubtedly one of the most significant watches of the past century. As the first model in the renowned Ingenieur line, it marks the beginning of a long-standing tradition that continues to captivate collectors and enthusiasts to this day.

Here we offer a classic IWC Ingenieur 666 AD with date display, dating from 1966. Among the early Reference 666 models, the version with a date (666 AD) is significantly rarer than the standard non-date version (666 A). This particular piece stands out for its exceptional, completely original condition. The classic silver sunburst dial with elegant Dauphine hands exhibits a beautiful, authentic patina that enhances the charm of this vintage watch. The original crown with the iconic IWC fish logo, along with the original box and hangtag, adds further authenticity and collectible value.

A special highlight is the original Gay-Frères bracelet with an IWC clasp bearing the "1/66" marking (first quarter of 1966). These bracelets are exceedingly rare and are highly coveted by collectors, even independently of the watch.

The Ingenieur 666 AD is powered by the automatic Caliber 8531 with a calendar module, an advanced iteration of the "IWC Automatic" system developed by Albert Pellaton. This movement is considered a milestone in watchmaking and reflects the technical excellence for which IWC is celebrated.

About the IWC Ingenieur
The story of this legendary antimagnetic wristwatch began in 1954, when IWC introduced the first Ingenieur with Reference 666. Since then, the Ingenieur has been a symbol of antimagnetic timepieces offering exceptional precision and reliability.

The Ingenieur's innovative design was groundbreaking: its case, case back, and dial were specifically engineered to protect the watch against magnetic fields of up to 80,000 amperes per meter. This surpassed the requirements of the Swiss standard for antimagnetic watches by a factor of 16 - a landmark achievement in watchmaking and a testament to IWC's technical expertise.
