This rare hand-wound Heuer Autavia from the 1970s features a stunning panda dial in a distinctive cushion-shaped case.
The history of the Autavia dates back to the mid-1960s, when Heuer introduced the first hand-wound models. With the introduction of Caliber 11 in 1969, the automatic movement became increasingly popular. However, not all Autavia models followed this trend: an exclusive number continued to be equipped with the proven Valjoux 7734 hand-wound movement. While the newly developed Caliber 11 still had to prove its reliability, the Valjoux 7734 had long since established itself as a precise and robust chronograph movement. Heuer continued to produce manually wound versions, especially for demanding applications, such as in the military sector. The Autavia 73463 presented here is an outstanding example of this special series.
The model offered here features a striking panda dial and is considered the counterpart to the automatic Siffert Autavia - hence the nickname "Siffert Colors". We are particularly impressed by the excellent condition of the dial and the fascinating blue accents, which underline its sporty character.
Reference 73463 is one of the rarest Heuer Autavia's on the vintage market. Not only is it rare, but it is also in excellent condition, making it a valuable collector's item for lovers of historic chronographs.
