When history meets man - a watch with a soul
One of the most moving moments for collectors is when an object is not only a mechanical masterpiece, but also tells a deeply rooted human story.
This extraordinary military chronograph from Eberhard & Co. was once entrusted to D.M. Vander Kaay, a pilot in the 41st Air Division of the South African Air Force, during his campaign in East Africa - Addis Ababa. Every detail of this watch breathes history: the engraved caseback bears the full military specifications, while the dial, with its subtle two-tone nuances, perfectly reflects the colors of a pilot's uniform.
Of particular note is the rare combination of two red scales: the inner spiral tachymeter scale (also called snail scale) and the outer telemeter scale, a refined technical signature that makes this historic timepiece even more unique.
This watch is more than a collector's item - it is a living relic of a bygone era that not only measures time, but also preserves stories of courage, adventure and pioneering spirit.
