The Rolex Daytona Reference 6263 presented here, crafted from solid 18-karat yellow gold, is a luxurious masterpiece of classical watchmaking. The gentle oxidation of the case is clear evidence of decades of untouched preservation - a perfect representation of what collectors call a "Safe Queen".
The hand-wound Daytonas were produced between 1963 and approximately 1987. This particular piece dates to 1986, making it one of the later executions of this legendary model. The deep black dial remains in an untouched condition, featuring perfectly preserved tritium lume. The hour markers and hands have aged evenly to a warm cream hue, creating a beautiful contrast against the dark dial.
A true visual highlight is the combination of the black tachymeter bezel and the golden subdials - a striking interplay of sportiness and elegance. The solid gold case displays only minimal signs of age and impresses with sharp lines and a consistent surface finish.
Completing the ensemble is an original riveted Oyster bracelet, reference 7205, with correct 71 end links. The gold Rolex clasp is stamped "K2" and, like the watch itself, dates to 1986 - a perfectly matched and coherent package for the discerning collector.
