SoldThe Polerouter line was created in 1954 by Gérald Genta to accompany the pioneering polar flights of Scandinavian Airlines over the North Pole. These flights placed extraordinary demands on timekeeping precision, as strong magnetic fields often disrupted conventional movements. Universal Genève met this challenge with an innovative, anti-magnetic construction – a true technical milestone of its era.
The dial of this Polerouter Sub is in excellent original condition and captivates with its distinctive design. The Arabic numerals at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, each framed within white trapezoidal markers, give the watch its unmistakable character. The original luminous material on the hands and on the luminous dot of the rotating bezel is fully intact and has aged with beautiful harmony.
The round stainless steel case remains unpolished, with sharply defined lugs and fully legible engravings on the screw-down case back.
Inside beats the automatic Universal Genève caliber 69 with micro-rotor – a technical highlight of the brand, celebrated for its thin construction, precision and reliability.
Only very few examples of this reference have survived the decades in such authentic and well-preserved condition – a true collector's piece for lovers of classic tool watches with history and style.
