The Emerald line was inspired by the avant-garde designs that Andrew Grima created for Omega and was introduced in 1971.
Grima, undoubtedly one of the most influential jewelers of his time and famously a jeweler to Queen Elizabeth II, left a distinctive mark on the aesthetic of this collection. The Emerald series is defined by its case design, inspired by the elegant geometry of the emerald cut.
Originally, these models were reserved for the top tier of the Constellation line, but Grima’s designs soon appeared in the Omega De Ville "Jeux d’Argent" collection as well. Production of the Emerald line at Omega ended as early as 1973, yet its influence extended far beyond that — more than 40 years later, variations of these designs reappeared under the name of another famous fashion house, as the entire line was sold to Chanel in 1981.
The Omega De Ville Jeux d’Argent offered here impresses with a satin-finished grey dial and a striking, integrated solid sterling silver bracelet with black inlays. The octagonal dial, featuring a fine linen-like texture, is protected by a faceted sapphire crystal. The clasp, of course, bears the Omega logo.
The silver case measures 32 x 25 mm and harmonizes beautifully with the distinctive bracelet design.
Altogether, this watch exudes a genuine 1970s retro charm – created for a style-conscious individual who appreciates exceptional accessories and wears them with effortless elegance in everyday life.
