This Omega chronograph CK2393 from the 1930s, powered by the legendary Caliber 33.3 and fitted with an exceptional two-tone dial, is one of those rare timepieces that captivates instantly. Finding an example in such remarkable condition borders on miraculous.
The silver two-tone dial features a finely graduated inner section that appears darker depending on the view angle, adding depth and dimensionality. Its architecture is exceptionally complex: a rare snail-scale at the center, a brown telemeter scale, and an outer blue tachymeter scale — three layers that interact harmoniously and give the watch a uniquely dynamic visual presence. On the wrist, the dial reveals an expression that is simultaneously technical, elegant and timeless.
The large 38 mm stainless-steel case impresses with sharply defined, bevelled lugs that look as though the watch has just left the factory. For a piece approaching 90 years of age, the condition is nothing short of spectacular. The characteristic olive-shaped pushers and the distinctive, almost architectural lugs enhance the overall elegance and contribute significantly to the watch’s unmistakable character.
Inside beats the mythical Omega Caliber 33.3 — one of the most important chronograph movements of its era. Revered for its precision and reliability, particularly in military use, it is regarded as the direct predecessor of the later Caliber 321, the movement that went on to make the Moonwatch famous.
A truly outstanding example of an early Omega chronograph — technically, aesthetically, and historically significant in every respect.
