Launched in 1949, reference 4591 embodies the elegant spirit of the 1950s and early 1960s with its generous yet harmonious proportions. The unmistakable silhouette of the rectangular case is defined by gently tapering case sides combined with a faceted crystal. Among vintage collectors, this distinctive shape is known as the "Tegola", named after the Italian word for sloping roof tiles.
The case of the present 1950s example is crafted in white gold and houses an elegant silver dial adorned with diamond-set indices and a subtly integrated small seconds subdial. Completing the ensemble is the original red Vacheron Constantin presentation box from the period – a rare and highly desirable accompaniment.

Dial: excellent condition – attractively and honestly aged silver surface – diamond-set hour markers.
Case: 18k white gold case – very light signs of wear – intact gold hallmarks – correct engravings on the caseback – the upper part of the case is engraved on the inside with two numbers corresponding to the last two digits of the case number engraved on the caseback.
