Angelus Flieger-Chronograph Tropical Dial

This vintage Angelus Flieger chronograph from the 1940s embodies authentic tool-watch aesthetics at their finest and captivates with an exceptionally even tropical patina.

The dial, originally black, has transformed over the decades into a warm, deep brown tone. The fully preserved gilt printing — from the signature and scales to the "ANTIMAGNET." designation — stands in perfect contrast to the patina, lending the dial a warm and elegant look. Particularly striking are the aged radium lume plots and hands: under magnification, their lively, granular texture becomes apparent, a detail that beautifully preserves the watch’s original character.

Typical of pilot’s chronographs of the era, the two-register layout features a small seconds and a 30-minute counter, complemented by an outer tachymeter scale. Despite the wealth of information, the dial remains harmonious, well balanced, and highly legible.

The 36 mm stainless-steel case impresses with clearly defined lines and a flat bezel that gives the chronograph an elegant yet functional appearance. The lugs, with their finely chamfered, exotic bevels, highlight the quality of the case construction. On the case back, the distinctive Angelus logo and the original serial number are clearly visible — coherent details that underscore the authenticity of this timepiece.
