Here we present a rare Enicar vintage chronograph from the 1960s. This timepiece stands out with its attractive grey dial, preserved in immaculate condition.
As early as the 1950s, Enicar established a strong reputation as a reliable companion for adventurers and extreme conditions. A remarkable chapter in the brand’s history was written in 1956, when a Swiss mountaineering team reached the summit of Mount Everest wearing Enicar watches.
The example offered here is the rare and unusual reference 2303 from the 1960s. Notably, the dial is completely unsigned in terms of model designation — no model name can be found.
Today, this vintage chronograph is seldom encountered and enjoys an excellent reputation among collectors thanks to its well-balanced design and the proven Valjoux 72 caliber. Despite a case diameter of "only" 36 mm, the watch wears noticeably larger and more present on the wrist due to the absence of a bezel. The undisputed highlight is the flawless grey dial with its three sub-registers, which stand out elegantly thanks to their darker outer rings.
The handset also deserves special attention: the chronograph seconds hand with its red lollipop tip adds a striking accent, while the hour and minute hands are filled with tritium lume and finished with fine orange tips.
Enjoyment in daily wear of this elegant vintage chronograph is guaranteed. At the same time, the rarity of the reference and its excellent condition ensure the long-term collector value of this example.
