This Rolex GMT-Master reference 16750 from 1986 comes as a complete full set – and in a particularly attractive and rare configuration: fitted with its original Jubilee bracelet.
The set includes the original Rolex chronometer certificate from the year of sale. The watch was originally sold in Italy by the jeweler l’Angolo delle Ore in Novara, near Milan. The certificate is stamped with the serial number and bears country code 200 – assigned to Italy until 1990, after which it was reallocated to Greece. Also included are two Italian Rolex booklets, the green Rolex document holder, the green Rolex presentation box, and the original outer box – a fully coherent and 100% authentic vintage package.
The five-digit transitional reference 16750 is considered one of the most desirable vintage daily wear GMT-Masters. Produced only between approximately 1981 and 1988, it combines the best of two worlds: the classic vintage character with acrylic crystal as seen on the 1675, while featuring an improved and robust movement with the addition of a quickset date function for the first time. It is precisely for this reason that the reference is known as the “Transitional” model – bridging the vintage charm of the 1675 with the technical advancements of its successors. This combination makes the 16750 significantly more practical for everyday use without sacrificing its iconic aesthetic.
The condition of this watch is outstanding: a flawless dial, a perfectly preserved case, and an overall exceptionally fresh appearance.
A particular highlight is the original Jubilee bracelet. At the time, the GMT-Master was typically delivered on an Oyster bracelet; the Jubilee was available only upon explicit customer request – evidently the case with this example. It lends the sporty icon a more elegant touch and beautifully emphasizes its versatility.
Every detail of this watch is harmonious and correct. It is a wonderful addition for the discerning collector – and equally the ideal choice for someone who not only collects watches, but truly enjoys wearing them.
