This Heuer Skipper reference 73464 is a striking regatta chronograph from the 1970s. Heuer developed numerous timepieces specifically for use in major sporting events – and the Skipper was designed particularly for sailing.
The standout feature of this reference is the large 15-minute regatta counter, divided into three colored segments. The combination of red, white and blue allows sailors to easily read the crucial starting phase of a race and gives the watch its unmistakable and dynamic appearance.
The present example is in fantastic condition. The blue dial is excellently preserved. The distinctive cushion-shaped stainless steel case is also in very good condition with crisp lines and intact sunburst finish. The bezel is very well preserved and further emphasizes the watch’s sporty character.
With its 42 mm case, bold colors and striking orange hands, the Skipper has a strong presence on the wrist. It is a particularly sporty, colorful and characterful vintage chronograph that is not only historically interesting but also a great pleasure to wear.
