This Heuer chronograph reference 1589B from the late 1970s is preserved in NOS condition.
The tonneau-shaped case with its satin-finished surface gives the watch a distinctive presence on the wrist. The silver dial in classic panda layout with its square subdials ensures clear, instrument-like legibility. The inner tachymeter scale and the bright orange chronograph hand add dynamic accents and reflect Heuer’s close connection to motorsport during this era.
A true highlight of this example is its exceptional state of preservation: the watch is in genuine NOS (New Old Stock) condition. The PVD-coated case remains flawless and fully intact – a level of preservation rarely found on these models. Particularly noteworthy is the original red Heuer sticker on the case back, underscoring the watch’s unworn and authentic character.
Inside beats the manual-wind Valjoux 7765 movement. The “Ebauche Swiss” marking on the dial indicates that the base movement was manufactured in Switzerland, while final assembly and finishing took place in France – further confirmed by the “Made in France” engraving on the case back. Due to this origin, the model is often referred to by collectors as a “Frenchie.”
A fascinating vintage chronograph in outstanding condition – a rare example of a watch that has remained virtually untouched by time.
