Description
Here we present a rare MK2 execution of the Heuer Autavia 1163 GMT – a highly sought-after automatic GMT chronograph that combines technical sophistication with bold 1970s motorsport design.

This example stands out with an exceptionally well-preserved case, featuring sharp lines and clearly defined edges, as well as a fantastic dial. The MK2 variant was produced for only around six months, making it one of the rarest GMT chronographs by Heuer – and without doubt one of the finest examples we have ever seen.

Visually, the watch captivates with a unique color composition: the yellow GMT hand, the vivid orange chronograph seconds hand and the red accents create striking contrasts against the deep black dial. Among all Heuer GMT models, this MK2 execution offers one of the most distinctive and dynamic designs. The bi-color rotating 24-hour bezel enhances the sporty character and gives the watch a particularly vibrant appearance.

Another highlight is the beautiful “Beads of Rice” bracelet by the renowned manufacturer Gay Frères, perfectly matching the era of the watch. The clasp is signed Heuer on the outside and engraved “4/70” on the inside, indicating production in the fourth quarter of 1970.

Inside, the watch is powered by the Heuer Calibre 14, based on the legendary automatic Calibre 11 and enhanced with a GMT module. This allows for the reading of a second time zone and underlines the functional, travel-ready character of this Autavia.

An extremely rare, superbly preserved and visually striking GMT chronograph – a true highlight for any discerning Heuer collector.
