This Enicar Memostar reference 298-01-01 is a rare alarm watch from the 1960s, presented in exceptionally well-preserved, near unworn condition – a combination that makes this example particularly outstanding.
The watch combines technical sophistication with timeless elegance and an impressive condition. The dial is flawless, featuring a fine sunburst finish, crisp printing and fully intact luminous material. The case is equally convincing: unpolished, with sharp lines and original geometry. Furthermore, the caseback still retains its original factory seal – a clear indication of the minimal wear it has seen over the decades.
With a diameter of 39 mm, the stainless steel case offers a remarkably modern presence on the wrist for its time – generously sized yet perfectly balanced in its proportions.
Inside, the watch is powered by the high-quality Lemania automatic caliber 2980, a technically advanced movement with integrated alarm function. The alarm is activated via the pusher at 2 o’clock and set using the crown at 4 o’clock. In addition, the watch features a quickset date, operated via the recessed pusher at 3 o’clock – an exceptionally rare and practical feature for the period.
A watch you rarely encounter – technically fascinating, aesthetically refined and of exceptional collector quality in this condition.
Alarm function instructions:
The alarm crown has three positions:
P1 – pressed against the case (alarm off)
P2 – alarm activated
P3 – setting position
To set the alarm, pull the upper crown to position P3. The desired alarm time is then set using the lower crown (winding and time-setting crown). As you turn the crown, the central disc with an arrow will move – align the arrow with the desired alarm time.
After setting, push the alarm crown back to position P2 to activate the alarm. When the set time is reached, the watch emits a vibrating buzzing sound. To deactivate the alarm, push the crown back to position P1.
