In 1972, Heuer expanded the Carrera line with the introduction of reference 1553. Similar to reference 1153, the first two digits of the reference number indicate the movement used inside the watch. In this case, it is powered by the Heuer Calibre 15 – an automatic chronograph movement featuring a date display, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and a running seconds sub-dial at 10 o'clock.
The most distinctive feature of reference 1553 is the grey horizontal bar across the dial, which resembles a key and has earned the watch its "Key Dial" nickname. The matching grey tachymeter scale creates a harmonious look, while the bright orange chronograph seconds hand adds a sporty touch. Large tritium hour markers complete the dial's appealing vintage character.
The 39 mm cushion-shaped case wears very comfortably on the wrist. Thanks to its balanced proportions and timeless design, the vintage Carrera remains one of the most popular everyday watches among collectors.

Case: 39 mm stainless steel case – light signs of wear – sharp lines and edges – the serial number between the lugs is clearly visible, although some digits are only partially legible – original Heuer crown – original ribbed chronograph pushers.
