With its vibrant orange design, the Zenith Super Sub Sea reference A3736 immediately puts a smile on your face. It is also one of the rarest sports chronographs of the late 1960s.
The A3736 combines a chronograph and a dive watch in a way that was highly unusual for its time. In addition to its chronograph function, it features a rotating inner dive bezel that is adjusted via the second crown at 10 o'clock.
The black dial with its striking silver sub-dials creates a beautiful contrast to the bright orange inner bezel. Together with the characteristic lollipop chronograph hand, it gives the watch its unmistakable appearance. The dial is preserved in great original condition and displays a natural, authentic patina.
Inside, the watch is powered by the Zenith 146 HP manual-winding caliber. It was the last manual-winding chronograph movement produced by Zenith before being replaced in 1969 by the legendary automatic El Primero. As such, this reference occupies a special place in the history of Zenith chronographs.
The watch is fitted with its original Gay Frères stainless steel bracelet featuring a diver's extension.
With its unmistakable summer look, characteristic late-1960s and early-1970s design, and original Gay Frères bracelet, this Zenith embodies everything that makes this reference one of the most sought-after vintage sports chronographs of its era.
